Heaven

Dawson has a 'Bible for me' book that Aunt Hettie got him last Easter, that tells the Easter story. He really likes it & asks lots of questions everytime we read it. Lately he has been talking about it alot and telling everyone about how Jesus died on the cross. Well, this is the conversation we had the other night:

-After finishing the book:
Me: Dawson, isn't that great that Jesus died for you so that you can go to heaven someday.
-He looks up at me, his face falls apart & his little eyes get all teary...
Dawson: But, I can't go to heaven Mama.
-Putting my arm around him...
Me: Awww Baby...why do you say that?
Dawson: Because I can't fly.

Who knows how long he has been worried about this?!? My sweet boy is just too smart...has to think everything through. After I explained to him that Jesus will help him fly to heaven, I think he was all better. This was officially a 'Mama moment'. You know, the kind of moment where you want to laugh & cry at the same time & try to hang on to your kids for dear life.

Hi..I was searching for some members of the Jeanes family and your blog was one of the sites that I found. I am in particular looking for sisters Ruby Jeanes and Brenda Jeanes. They may be married with different last names now. Their mother was Hettie Jeanes. (like the Aunt Hettie in your blog) Their fathers name was Blue, at least, that is what everyone called him. We were good friends in the 1970's while living in Bahrain. Blue was an oil worker with Brown & Root Co, back then.
I was in the Navy and stationed there. I was just wondering how they all were doing. It's been a long time, sisnce I've heard from them. The were from the Houston area and am sure they would have gone back there. Please give them my email address, so they can contact me, if they like. They knew me as "Clint" back then.
Thank you....H D Clinton

That is a sweet story! I think it's a "put in the book to keep forever" story! Tell Dawson that we can all fly when Jesus takes us home.
