I think most kids are like mine, in the fact that they start planning their next birthday party the day after their current birthday party. Andi started planning her 5th birthday party almost immediately after her 4th, and she had decided she wanted it to be Strawberry Shortcake themed. However, one day totally out of the blue, she said 'Mom, I don't want to have a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party anymore. I want to have a Jesus party. With a Jesus cake, Jesus balloons & Jesus candles.' Before I could say anything, Dawson piped up (not wanting to be out-done by his sister) and said 'Well I want to have a God party for my next party then.' I told them that I thought that would be really nice. They were both quiet for a minute, then Dawson said in a worried voice 'But, could my cake still have Spiderman & Batman on it? Like, maybe put God in the middle with Spiderman & Batman on either side of him?' My little Superhero boy couldn't stand the thought of his birthday not involving his beloved superheros. Then, of course, Andi thought her cake should have Jesus in the middle between Strawberry Shortcake & Tinkerbell. I am going to need to find a very creative cake maker.
