Dawson: my crazy child

Some more funny Dawson stories:

1. I let him 'try' to eat gum every once in awhile. Yesterday, he asked for some after we had eaten some popcorn. Apparently, there were still a couple of pieces of popcorn in the bowl & he mixed the two in his mouth. He came flying around the corner into the kitchen yelling "Mom, the popcorn swallowed ALL the gum up in my mouth!"

2. Also, for some reason he never uses the word 'Why.' Instead, he uses the word 'How.' It makes for some very interesting sentences. Here is an example from today: "How is the man doing that for?"

3. Dawson's teacher told me this story today. Apparently this is what she overheard Dawson saying to another little girl in his class who was misbehaving. "You are not supposed to do that. Do you need to sit in time out? Do you need a spanking? Or maybe we should call your mom..." From here the teacher took over for him, and relieved him from his disciplining duties :-).

Kiddo Funnies

Andi:

She always heard me asking Dawson "Do you want 'one' when I held up his vitamins...she every day she says to me "WANT ONES! MAMA...WANT ONES!"

She also does not like for things to get dirty, except she declares everything is 'DIRGY'.

Dawson:

For awhile now, Dawson has used this phrase to describe something & it is so cute. He says "Look...I got the biggest one EVER ALL!"

Every night before he goes to bed, he tells me "Happy New Year Mom...and Merry Goodnight Christmas."

Yesterday, totally out of the blue, Dawson said to me, "Congratulations Mom! What did you get for Christmas?"

The other night, Dawson was not paying attention to me & Derek said "Listen to your Mother!" Dawson scowled at him & replied, "She is NOT my Mother...she is my MOM!" Trying not to giggle, he told him to listen to his MOM then.

Dawson Christmas funnies

I am still editing the hundreds of pics I took over the holidays, but, here are a few funny Dawson stories from the last couple of weeks.

1. I bought this new sparkly peace sign this year for christmas decorations & put it in my kitchen window sill. Dawson noticed it immediately & said "Mom, there are letters in our window." I told him the letters spelled peace. Later that day, I heard him telling Andi that the letters in the window spelled 'peice of cookie.'

2. One day while driving to Granna's house, we were discussing all the christmas decorations that Granna had out in her yard. Dawson exclaimed..."Granna's house is just wrapped in Christmas!"

3. After waking up Christmas morning & seeing all the presents that Santa had brought him, Dawson told me...'Uh oh, Santa forgot something.' Apparently there was another spiderman toy he wanted...santa should have listenend better I guess :-)

Cute Videos

Dada was recently out of town 2 weeks back to back...this was the longest the kids had been away from him. So, this video is from the day he came back into town...Dawson was pretty excited about 'Dada Time'

This second video is of Dawson singing one of his favorite songs "Take me out the the ballgame." He is such a cute little singer!

Christmas Train

Granna & Gramps treated all of us to a wonderful Christmas train ride Thanksgiving weekend in Austin. It was Wonderful!!! We were all super excited...it was a 'first' for all of us. It was an hour train ride to Bertram, where they were having a christmas festival, and then an hour train ride back. We had a great time & I think I was more excited than the kiddos!on the train before we lefttotally amazed when we started moving

This has to be one of the sweetest pictures I have ever seen. Andi with Gramps

Heaven

Dawson has a 'Bible for me' book that Aunt Hettie got him last Easter, that tells the Easter story. He really likes it & asks lots of questions everytime we read it. Lately he has been talking about it alot and telling everyone about how Jesus died on the cross. Well, this is the conversation we had the other night:

-After finishing the book:
Me: Dawson, isn't that great that Jesus died for you so that you can go to heaven someday.
-He looks up at me, his face falls apart & his little eyes get all teary...
Dawson: But, I can't go to heaven Mama.
-Putting my arm around him...
Me: Awww Baby...why do you say that?
Dawson: Because I can't fly.

Who knows how long he has been worried about this?!? My sweet boy is just too smart...has to think everything through. After I explained to him that Jesus will help him fly to heaven, I think he was all better. This was officially a 'Mama moment'. You know, the kind of moment where you want to laugh & cry at the same time & try to hang on to your kids for dear life.

Halloween 2008

Dawson was TOTALLY into halloween this year! He has been wearing his costume everyday for the last couple of weeks. He loves for him & Andi to match, so it was great we found a cute matching set that he liked. The had a wonderful time at all the different festivities we went to this year. The boys in Dawson's class play fighting...too cute!
Superheros swinging

How cute are they trick-or-treating!!!! They were too stinkin' adorable. (I know, I am slightly biased)

Soccer Fun!

Here are some pics of Dawson at soccer practice. It has taken him a little while to 'warm up' to his coach & team, but he is having so much fun! His team picked the name the LIONS, and the last pic is of them doing their team cheer. (you can barely see the tip of his red hair)

Andi's 2 year old pictures

This morning, my Dad & I photographed Andi for her 2nd birthday. I could not be happier with them!!! They turned out exactly like I wanted. My sweet Dad, I found out later, had even taken a vacation day to be able to do this!!! We took her to the Chocolate Bar & Candylicious to coordinate with her cute outfit. This outfit is her Daddy's absolute favorite, so I knew we had to take pics in it! She had a wonderful time...only problem was the sugar overload...no nap happened today!

New York Trip!!!!

Derek & I got to take a 3 day trip to New York this last weekend. Derek has a job site close to New York City that he was already scheduled to be at, so then I joined him from Thursday-Sunday. We knew it would be the perfect time to view the Fall scenery. I did my research & found the best places to go. The next couple of blogs break down the trip. We squeezed SO much into three days it is unreal, and I took over 1000 images! But, it was a trip of a lifetime...

New York in the Fall

This was by far, the highlight of my trip. In fact, this is something I have wanted to do my entire life. Those of you that know me well, know that I LOVE leaves & trees. Okay, Okay...so I might be obsessed with them & taking pictures of them. We drove all around the Hudson Valley Territory stopping everytime I saw a beautiful tree. I even got teary eyed several times over how beautiful it was. Here are some of my favorite images from the day.Me enjoying the trees...one the rare moments I put the camera down. Derek snapped this picWOW!! The colors were amazing!!!When we walked up to this tree, Derek told me he felt like he was in a Willy Wonka movie. It just looked way too UN-realistic.A self timer photo: oh, to have Derek on video propping the camera up on rocks & sticks, running over to me across a log over water, then trying to look as peaceful as the scenery! This was where I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a Thomas Kincaide painting

Bear Mountain Bridge

I could have spent days here...I will be back, however.
